Flipkart accelerates green logistics with Bajaj Auto partnership, introduces 1000 electric three-wheelers

Flipkart, India’s leading e-commerce marketplace, has taken a significant stride towards sustainable logistics by entering into a strategic alliance with Bajaj Auto Ltd., a global powerhouse in the two and three-wheeler segment. The collaboration marks a pivotal moment in Flipkart’s journey towards a greener and more efficient delivery ecosystem.

Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on May 10th, Bajaj Auto commits to supplying Flipkart with 1000 cutting-edge electric three-wheeler cargo vehicles over the course of two years. These vehicles, part of Bajaj’s esteemed E-TEC Cargo range, are poised to redefine last-mile delivery operations with their advanced technology and eco-friendly credentials.

Speaking on the partnership, Samardeep Subandh, President of Intracity Business Unit at Bajaj Auto Ltd., emphasized the shared commitment to driving sustainability in India’s e-commerce logistics landscape. He highlighted the strategic significance of this collaboration in fostering a 100% sustainable last-mile fleet for Flipkart, underscoring Bajaj’s role as a catalyst for change in the industry. Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President and Head of Supply Chain, Customer Experience & Re-Commerce at Flipkart Group, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing Flipkart’s dedication to environmental responsibility.
