Durex The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) programme by Reckitt, a global leader in consumer health, hygiene, and nutrition, assumed the role of Health Partner atthe Sikkim World AIDS Day celebration. Durex TBBT and Sikkim State AIDs Control Society (SSACS) are collaborating to raise HIV/AIDS awareness among students and teachers in six Northeast, Delhi, and Gujarat states. Plan India is implementing the program through events and activities on World AIDS Day, involving the National AIDS Control Organisation, Department of Health and Family Welfare, and the Rainbow Hills Association of Sikkim.
The SOFIYUM Music Festival in Gangtok featured Gangtok’s Lepcha Folk-western Fusion Band SOFIYUM and hip hop artist Sudarshan Rai. The festival aimed to educate adolescents about the key pillars of the Durex TBBT curriculum, including consent, equity, inclusion, awareness, and protection. Shri Nell Bahadur Chettri, Mayor, Gangtok Municipal Corporation, called Durex TBBT, “A positive and fruitful programme for the youths to dwell deeper into causes like HIV/ AIDS and substance abuse.”
The Pride Walk Fashion Show showcased the popular Queenandro and the dynamic duo of Xorem and Gracy. The community embraced artists who walked the ramp in solidarity with HIV AIDS patients and showcased TBBT curriculum books and materials for children, educating them on sexuality, life skills, and safer practices.
