Dr. Joy Varghese, a senior consultant neurosurgeon at Apollo Hospitals, holds various degrees, including MBBS, MS, MCH, FMVS, FSS, FINR, University of Zurich and is the Chief Coordinator of Neuro Intervention in the Department of Neuro and Spine Surgery. Dr. Joy Varghese presented a brief on advanced technology in neuron surgery at a press meet in Siliguri on March 16th.
Dr. Varghese shared one of his experiences. Lately, he has performed a 22-hour surgery on a patient who had a tumor placed in a sensitive area, the jugular vein. The patient was an international triathlete. Typically, open surgery is required in that case; this patient had only one vein in that area, requiring careful and time-consuming surgery. Despite the long wait, Dr. Varghese successfully operated on the surgery, and the patient has fully recovered by now. The surgery was significant news.
Dr. Varghese asserted that neurosurgery has become increasingly advanced, with endocopy, microscopy, and endoverculkar surgeries being used to remove tumors. Dr. Varghese highlighted endocopy, microscopy, and endoverculkar surgeries, which enable the removal of any type of critical tumor.
