Uttarakhand Tuesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami requested $1,774 crore in central funding for the Song Dam Drinking Water Project during a meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
He said that the Song dam project would provide Dehradun and surrounding districts with adequate drinking water. According to a press release, Dhami stated that all necessary licences, such as the transfer of forest land and other approvals, have been obtained from the relevant agencies and ministries.
The state government will cover the cost of Rs 247 crore for the rehabilitation and relocation of the project-affected families, the chief minister added.
