Dettol Banega Swasth India commemorates Global Handwashing Day 2024

In a remarkable celebration of Global Handwashing Day 2024, Reckitt’s Dettol Banega Swasth India (BSI) campaign reached an impressive 30 million children across India, emphasizing the power of clean hands in building a healthier future. Under the theme “Clean Hands for All: Advancing Health Equity through Hygiene,” the initiative reflects BSI’s deep commitment to ensuring that children from all backgrounds have access to essential hygiene knowledge.

Through its impactful Dettol School Hygiene Education programme, the campaign engaged children in 29 states and 7 union territories. Schools ranging from Sarvodaya Vidyalayas to Kendriya Vidyalayas participated in promoting proper handwashing techniques. Adding a modern touch, the campaign introduced an AI-powered chatbot, “Hygieia For Good Hygiene,” which provides vital hygiene information in seven languages.

In Siliguri, the campaign has garnered strong local support, with schools and parents recognizing the significance of hygiene education. Market stakeholders emphasize that this initiative is crucial for enhancing community health, as children learn essential handwashing techniques that can prevent illness. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, fostering a sense of responsibility and awareness that echoes throughout the market.
