The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the revised National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Graduate (NEET UG) 2024 result. Revised results are declared by considering the correct option of physics questions. The Supreme Court dismissed the petitions for cancellation and re-examination of NEET, which was marred by controversy this time.
This year, 67 students shared All India Rank 1. Among them, six were on the list because they were compensated with extra marks for the loss of examination time due to invigilators’ mistakes. About 44 toppers because they got a physics question wrong and got grace marks for it. As soon as the revised result is declared, the rank of the candidates will be changed, as the Supreme Court has decided that there will be only one correct answer, and anyone who answers with anything other than that will not get marks for it. This means the scores of these 44 candidates will now be revised to 715 out of 720, and the remaining 14 candidates—wwho scored 720—aand another 70—who scored 716 out of 720. These 44 will now be ranked after them.
This year the cut-off for general and general-PH category candidates has increased to 720-164 from last year’s 720-137. NTA determines the NEET UG percentile based on the highest marks scored in the All-India Common Merit List in NEET UG 2024. The percentile will also be changed. This year, 24,06,079 students registered for the medical entrance exam, and 23,33,297 of them appeared.
