Siliguri, Jan 16: A cyclist had a narrow escape near NJP Railway Hospital in Siliguri on Thursday. The accident took place when Hiranlal Kumar, a resident of Jalpai More, was headed towards Ambika Nagar for work.
While cycling near the Railway Hospital More, he was hit from behind by a speeding vehicle, throwing him several metres off the road. Fortunately, he survived the accident and suffered minor injuries.
On receiving the news, NJP police and traffic officials immediately rushed to the spot. The vehicle involved in the accident was taken into custody and taken to the NJP police station for further investigation.
