The wedding between Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and Member of Parliament Priya Saroj, which was originally planned for November 19 in Varanasi, has been postponed for several months because of Rinku’s cricket obligations. On June 8, their engagement took place in a lavish ceremony in Lucknow. We were informed of this situation by Priya’s father, Tufani Saroj, who is currently an MLA from Kerakat, Jaunpur, and a three-time MP from Machhlishahr, Uttar Pradesh. He reveals that the wedding plans have not yet been decided upon because of Rinku’s hectic workload.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that South Africa will play India in an all-format series, with two Test matches to begin. Before that, India will go to Australia from October 19 to November 8 for three One-Day Internationals and five Twenty20 matches. Actor-politician Jaya Bachchan, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Congress leader and BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla, MP Dimple Yadav, and others were present during Rinku and Priya’s engagement.
Priya, a Machhlishahr native, is a new lawmaker. In 2024, she became the second-youngest candidate elected to the Lok Sabha after defeating BP Saroj. The cricket player has participated in 33 Twenty20 Internationals and two One Day Internationals (ODIs). According to what Tufani had previously revealed, Priya and Rinku met through a common friend whose father plays cricket.
