On Friday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced during that to improve administrative efficiency Assam will now have four new districts in the state and 81 sub-districts.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, “We have reconstituted the four new districts, and it is co-terminus with assembly constituencies declared by the Election Commission under delimitation.”
The four new districts that are to be created are Hojai, Biswanath, Tamulpur and Bajali. Earlier, these four districts were merged with other districts due Election Commission’s delimitation immediate effect.
