Siliguri, September 04: In a recent incident, a couple was arrested by Siliguri Police for stealing a sound box from an electronics store on Rabindra Nagar Main Road. The couple, identified as Amresh Sarkar and Shyamoli Sarkar, entered the shop posing as customers on Tuesday.
According to reports, the couple possessed the shopkeeper by asking him to see various items before stealing the sound box and making off without making any purchases. The theft was retrace by the shop owner, who instantly lodged a complaint at the Siliguri Police Station.
After examining the CCTV footage of the store, police were able to identify the suspects. Amresh and Shyamoli Sarkar were arrested that night from Bhabesh Mor area of Siliguri. The furtive sound box was also recovered.
The arrested couple were produced in the Siliguri court on Wednesday and the police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
