On the occasion of World Fisheries Day 2024, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) commended fish farmers, fishermen, and stakeholders for their contributions to the fisheries sector, emphasizing its cultural and economic significance in the state.“Fish farming and fishing have not only sustained livelihoods but have also been an integral part of our culture and tradition,” Tamang stated, reaffirming his government’s dedication to promoting sustainable fishing practices and conserving aquatic ecosystems.
