CID and Bengal STF seized heroin worth Rs 2.4 crore

Six people were detained in Siliguri by the state CID and Bengal STF, who also seized 2.4 kilogramme of heroin worth Rs 2.4 crore, 3 kg of illegal synthetic narcotics, and 850 grammes of brown sugar worth Rs 1 crore. On Thursday afternoon at Jalpaimore on Burdwan Road in Siliguri, the heroin was taken from the bus’s crew. Sanjay Dey (37), Samir Sharma (43) and Mukul Sarkar (45) are three defendants who live in Cooch Behar.
Three males carrying Yaba and brown sugar were apprehended by the STF; they have been identified as F M Sakil Ahamed (19), Md Shajahan (26) and Md Dayan Hussain (24), all from Lilong in Manipur. Due to its proximity to Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand, anti-drug authorities claimed that the NE states served as drug transit routes.
