Now Puja festival has started and people are very much excited to celebrate it. Today Siliguri has become one of the most known places for Durga Puja celebration as all people here celebrate it with full energy. This Thursday Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee virtually inaugurated Dada Bhai Sporting Club and Subrata Sangha Durga Puja pandals. The event was graced by the presence of Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb, Siliguri Police Commissioner C Sudhakar, and other officials in Subrata Sangha. Actually several Durga Puja pandals were inaugrated virtually in various districts of North and South Bengal.
Positively reports say that during the inauguration, the CM announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to each family of those who lost their lives in the Sikkim disaster. The CM further stated that Rs 1 lakh will be compensated to the affected family members living in the areas along the Teesta bank including Malbazar. Today people are struggling with many problems but still since there is hope they have the ability to celebrate Durga Puja and enjoy.
