Assam State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden known as Guwahati Zoo, welcomed a female giraffe calf on Sunday. On welcoming the calf, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his happiness and asked for name suggestions from the netizens.
Assam CM through a post on ‘X’ said, “Happy to share that the Assam State Zoo has been blessed with a cute baby Giraffe just three days ago. Any suggestions for naming the new born?” sharing pictures of the baby calf.
According to the sources, the calf’s roots are from Africa but by birth he is an Assamese.
