A well-known Indian-American statistician and mathematician named Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao will get the 2023 International Prize in Statistics, which is akin to the Nobel Prize in the subject, for his seminal work that transformed statistical thinking 75 years ago. The International Prize in Statistics Foundation stated in a statement that Rao’s work, which was completed more than 75 years ago, is still having a significant impact on research. At the biennial International Statistical Institute World Statistics Congress in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, in July, Rao, who is currently 102, will receive the honor, which comes with a cash prize of USD 80,000.
