Assam witnessed back-to-back earthquakes

Assam recently witnessed two earthquakes in the stated on Saturday morning which is of magnitude 3.6 and 2.8.

A National Center for Seismology report said the first quake of 3.6 magnitudes on the Richter scale was recorded at 9.03 am, with its epicentre near Titabar in Jorhat district on the southern bank of Brahmaputra River, at a depth of 50 km.

The second tremor of 2.8 magnitudes on the Richter scale was registered at 11.02 am, with the epicentre near Dalgaon in Darrang district on the northern bank of Brahmaputra, at a depth of 9 km.

As per reports, no causality was found, no damage to properties and injuries reported due to the back-to-back earthquakes together.
