Assam Rifles rescues 96 people from India-Myanmar border

On Monday, the Assam Rifles rescued 96 people in violence-hit Manipur near the India-Myanmar border in an air evacuation operation.

According to sources, 70 people dead and 1,700 houses burnt down during Manipur violence hit.

Security, medical, food, accommodation and telecommunication needs for interaction were given to the rescued people by the Assam Rifles during the stay.

Additionally, Assam Rifles used Air Force MI 17 helicopters to rescue the needy people for Manipur violence.
