Assam Chief Minister to go for new crackdown ‘Fertilizer Jihad’      

On Monday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma promised a crackdown on the excessive use of fertilizers in the state, Assam. The crackdown is termed as ‘Fertilizers Jihad’.

According to the sources, the announcement was made at an event for the development and implementation of natural farming in Guwahati.

Additionally, use of excessive fertilizers can harm the body and that he would take action against those who are promoting its use. Describing the term “fertilizer jihad” has been used to describe the practice of using excessive fertilizers, which can lead to soil degradation and other environmental problems. 

 “We have conveyed our resolve to fight against “fertilizer jihad” during our election campaign. We should use fertiliser but excess of it can harm the body,” the Chief Minister said.
