Odisha government will soon start semiconductor manufacturing and fabless policy as it hopes to have at least one manufacturing unit and 100 fabless design companies in the state.
Under approving this policy, the state is also expecting for 5,000 direct and 20,000 indirect jobs will be created in Odisha within seven years.
After Odisha, the Assam government has also announced that it had approved the Assam Electronics (Semiconductor) Policy 2023, during its 100th cabinet meeting which recently took place. It is expected to transform the state into a dynamic and self-sustaining centre for semiconductor manufacturing and electronics production.
The first state to come up with semiconductor policy was Gujarat in 2022 and the policy has resulted in perfect destination to which Odisha and Assam have now approved.
