Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi and wife Prem Mukhi bid farewell to Assam on Saturday. The program was organised at Raj Bhavan.
“It has been my honor to serve the beautiful state of Assam as Governor for more than five years. I am happy with the results of our joint efforts and believe that the prosperity and progress of the state will continue,” Mukhi said.
According to sources, Mukhi will be replaced by Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly Gulab Chand Kataria, who is likely to be sworn in as the new governor of Assam on February 22.
Mukhi was appointed as the Governor of Assam on 10 October 2017.
