As Bengal’s unrest-filled cities attempt to normalise, Mamata makes a call for calm

Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday appealed for peace after post-Ram Navami violence in two towns in the densely populated Hooghly district and urged her “Hindu brothers” to ensure that minorities are protected.
Banerjee said that processions were staged days after the Lord Ram celebration had ended in an effort to “incite violence and cause tention” while speaking at a rally in East Mednipur’s Khejuri district.
