Arjun Kapoor express he failed in 11th so he quit studies: ‘If Ishaqzaade doesn’t work…’

Actor Arjun Kapoor recently revealed that he had failed in 11th and how he was only dependent on his debut film Ishaqzaade.

Arjun Kapoor has always been open about the struggles in his life, be it professional or personal. The actor, son of producer Boney Kapoor, recently revealed that he had failed in 11th and his parents allowed him to quit studies to pursue his passion. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Arjun also shared that his whole life was dependent on his debut film Ishaqzaade.

Talking about the amazing response, he said, “My mother had passed away 45 days before Ishaqzaade, I was completely numb during the promotions and was only distracting myself. I went to a theatre and saw the audience’s reaction. They were whistling at Chhokra Jawan. It meant a lot to me. That day I realised that this could be the rest of my life.”

Arjun also revealed how he had little hope and wanted to return home after working as an assistant director on Kal Ho Naa Ho. “I was at NM (Narsee Monjee) in Bombay, I had failed class 11. I had the facility to do so, my family allowed me to make that choice. It is very difficult for any parent to stop their child from continuing education. But, I was very clear that I wanted to be a part of the film profession. I thought I would only assist on Kal Ho Naa Ho and go back home, but I never went,” he said. The actor further added, “A lot of people don’t realise but if Ishaqzaade hadn’t worked, I would have actually been in a situation where I would have had to live with the regret that I didn’t have educational qualifications to rely on. One Friday can decide what your life will be like. I took a risk of not educating myself but I don’t think I would agree with today’s times if I go back in time. That’s my biggest gamble.”
