Papalpreet Singh, an associate of Waris Punjab De chief and self-styled campaigner Amritpal Singh, was arrested from Hoshiarpur in a joint operation by Punjab Police and Punjab Counter Intelligence on Monday.
Right now he is under the custody of Amritsar Rural Police.
Papalpreet was also wanted in the Ajnala violence case, which was registered at the Ajnala police station on February 23.
He was absconding with Amritpal after police began an operation against the Waris Punjab De chief last month. Last week, CCTV footage purportedly showing Papalpreet at a ‘dera’ near Tanuli village in Hoshiarpur surfaced on social media.
Meanwhile, Amritpal is still absconding.
