Amazon India’s 7th Prime Day event, held from July 15-16, was the largest ever event. Thousands of sellers, brands, and bank partners gathered to offer savings of around INR 300 crores to Prime members. The event saw fastest deliveries, with 1 in 3 orders in metros delivered before the event ended, and 1 in 2 orders across most Tier 1 & 2 cities delivered in less than two days. This Prime Day event saw strong growth in Prime membership and highest engagement, with 14% more members shopping than last year’s event.
Amazon India’s Director, Prime and Delivery Experience, Akshay Sahi, praised the success of Prime Day in India, highlighting the support of sellers, she said, “With the biggest product and brand launches, best deals of the year this Prime Day, we also delivered highest number of same day deliveries over past Prime Day events.”
Prime Day saw 45% of Prime members use Amazon Pay, with 82% from Tier 2 & 3 cities and towns. Prime Video’s originals, movies, and shows were enjoyed by customers from 4,490 cities and towns in India, with over 230 countries and territories watching the incredible line-up of Indian shows and movies.
