Amazon India joins hand with the Indian Coast Guard to create work opportunities for ex-service personnel

Amazon India has signed a MoU with the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) to offer work opportunities to ex-service personnel, in line with its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The company values unique perspectives and fosters a culture conducive to growth. It provides equal access to opportunities and resources across all talent communities, including women, LGBTQIA+, military veterans, and the differently abled. Amazon India has launched multiple initiatives to bring diversity, equity, and inclusion into the workforce, aiming to empower individuals to unlock their full potential and achieve more.

Amazon India launched a Military Veterans Employment program in August 2019, partnering with the Army Welfare Placement Organization (AWPO) to provide work opportunities for military veterans and their families.

The company also renewed its Memorandum of Understanding with the Directorate General Resettlement, allowing it to mobilize untapped potential veterans and expand its talent pipeline across India. Deepti Varma, VP, People Experience Technology, Amazon India, Japan & Emerging Markets, asserted, “With the signing of this MoU, we are excited to work with the Indian Coast Guard towards a common goal of creating meaningful work opportunities for our veterans and their families. We will continue to leverage the wealth of experience of military veterans, who are an incomparable addition to Amazon.”
