Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka after the full load commencement of power supply to Bangladesh from the Group’s Ultra Super-Critical Thermal Power Plant in Godda, India. This marks the Adani Group’s entry into transnational power projects, where 100% of generated power is supplied to another nation.
Godda’s power plant in India will significantly impact Bangladesh’s power situation by replacing costly liquid fuel power, reducing average power costs. The plant operates with 100% flue gas desulphurization, selective catalytic reconverter, and zero water discharge, aligning with Indian environmental standards.
The Godda USCTPP marks a milestone for the Adani Group and BPDB, fostering close cooperation and economic ties, fostering close cooperation and economic relations between the two nations. Adani Power’s collaboration will boost industry growth and strengthen the Bangladesh’s economy.After the meeting, Mr Gautam Adani said in a tweet: “Honoured to have met Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina on full load commencement and handover of the 1600 MW Ultra Super-Critical Godda Power Plant. I salute the dedicated teams from India and Bangladesh who braved COVID to commission the plant in a record time of three-and-a-half years.”
