Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated Bangladesh’s largest solar power project in Mymensingh, which will contribute 280 megawatts to the national grid.
The plant is seen as a significant step towards Bangladesh’s goal of sourcing 40% of its energy from renewables by 2041. Officials said the project will help reduce carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels.
Other South Asian nations like India, Nepal, and Bhutan — already investing in green energy — have welcomed this move as a model for sustainable regional development.
