Siliguri, Jan 20: In a swift operation, plainclothes police of Bhaktinagar Police Station arrested four members of a robber gang before they could commit their planned crime. The arrested suspects have been identified as Parimal Ghosh, Ram Dass, Ravi Pradhan and Vicky Nag.
Reports suggest that the gang had gathered in the PC Mittal bus stand area late last night with the intention of committing a major heist. However, acting on a tip-off, the police raided the area and nabbed four criminals before they could execute their plan. Several other members of the gang managed to flee from the spot on seeing the presence of the police.
Besides, sharp-edged weapons were seized from the arrested persons during the operation. The four suspects were produced in Jalpaiguri Court on Monday and the police are continuing to investigate the case.
