According to officials late Friday, 32 employees of the Border Roads Organization (BRO) were rescued after becoming buried under snow following an avalanche that occurred close to Mana village in the Chamoli region of Uttarakhand. According to Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari, 32 of the 57 laborers who were stranded in the avalanche have been rescued. Rescue operations are being carried out on a war footing, according to the Uttarakhand Disaster Management Department.
Helpline numbers were released by the Uttarakhand government on Friday in case anyone needed information or assistance regarding the avalanche. People are urged to call the hotline lines, which are run by the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority’s state emergency operation center, according to the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) of the Uttarakhand government. Speaking to Chief Minister Dhami, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reassured him that the safe evacuation of those stranded in the event was the government’s top concern. Rajnath Singh, the minister of defense, said he also discussed the situation with Dhami and gave his assurance that local army troops are helping those in need in every way possible. Additionally, local Army soldiers are conducting rescue operations. All possible resources are being used in the endeavor to rescue the personnel who are trapped,” he continued. According to Dhami, the rescue effort is being carried out by Army and ITBP troops.
