3 Minutes, 3 Steps: Medanta’s Innovative Approach to Breast Cancer Screening

Medanta – The Medicity, India’s Best Private Hospital for six consecutive years as per Newsweek, has rolled out a technology-driven awareness initiative promoting a three-minute self-breast examination. Part of its “Jaanta Hai Medanta” campaign, the initiative leverages digital platforms to educate women on early detection of breast cancer, combining innovation with preventive healthcare.

The educational video features Dr. Kanchan Kaur, Senior Director, Breast Cancer at Medanta, demonstrating a simple three-step self-exam procedure to be performed monthly, ideally 2–3 days after menstruation. The method involves examining the breast and armpit with light pressure in circular and up-and-down motions while checking for lumps, skin changes, or nipple deformities. “Digital outreach and self-exams empower women to monitor their health, enabling early intervention and better treatment outcomes,” Dr. Kaur said.

The campaign is spurring interest in tech-enabled preventive healthcare. Local clinics report increasing inquiries for screenings, while wellness centers and pharmacies are integrating digital awareness campaigns and early-detection services. The response reflects a growing appetite for innovative healthcare solutions in the region and highlights the potential for technology to expand preventive care access. With breast cancer being the most common cancer among Indian women, Medanta’s initiative demonstrates how innovation and technology can drive life-saving awareness and strengthen consumer engagement in preventive healthcare.
