Alipurduar, Jan 03: Three youths were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a small four-wheeler and a motorcycle on the national highway. The incident took place at Jateshwar traffic junction in Falakata block on Friday evening.
According to local sources, the three were travelling on a motorcycle towards Falakata when they collided with a small four-wheeler coming from Birpara. Due to the collision, the front portion of the four-wheeler was badly damaged while all the three people on the motorcycle fell down.
On receiving information, Jateshwar police reached the spot and started rescue operations. The injured youths were immediately helped by the locals and rushed to Falakata Super Specialty Hospital. However, as the condition of the injured deteriorated, the doctors referred them to another hospital.
The police are currently investigating the incident.
