Rajganj, 03 June (Retd): Three houses of the same family were burnt to ashes due to fire in number 9 Colony area near Ambari of Rajganj block. All household items and important documents were destroyed in the fire. Rajganj MLA Khageshwar Rai visited the incident site on Monday and promised assistance to the affected family.
It is said that a sudden fire broke out at Rajib Roy’s residence on Sunday night. In spite of primary efforts by local residents to control the fire, the fire was not extinguished until a fire brigade from Phulbari arrived.
Rajib Roy said everything including land papers, important documents, and gold and about Rs 1.25 lakh recently withdrawn from the bank was completely destroyed. Roy, who supports his family by working as a labourer, expressed grief over the total loss.
On assessing the damage, MLA Khageshwar Rai said that all the property of the family has been completely destroyed. He said several tarpaulins have been handed over to the family. Furthermore, he assured that all possible government assistance will be provided to the family.
